Peggy Sue is a beautiful Australian Shepherd mix who is 11 months old and weighs in at 30 pounds.

Peggy Sue had a horrible accident where she was hit by a car, her owners brought her to the vet, but made the decision to have her put down.

One of our volunteers was at the vet's office when Peggy Sue was brought in. They told the owners that there were options out there to get funds to help with surgeries like this. Unfortunately that wasn't going to work.

The owners signed Peggy Sue over to us and we gave the Vet permission to do her surgery. The Vet tried to save her leg, but there was too much damage and he had to amputate.

Peggy Sue is still healing from her surgery and is learning to walk with 3 legs. She is doing well and thankfully her spirit wasn't broken by this experience.

She is such a soft hearted dog, just wants to be loved, petted and to give kisses.

We are looking for a home where she will be indoors only with playtime in a secure fenced yard. It would be best if she had a limited amount of stairs that she would have to climb daily.
