Chip is a very special boy. He was found wandering around a neighborhood when he was only 8 weeks old. A vet exam revealed that Chip was both blind and deaf. It is remarkable that he was walking around alone and was not hurt or killed!
Chip is now 1 year old. We know that he was born blind and deaf. He has been diagnosed with Merle Ocular Dysgenesis, a congenital disease which unfortunately has no treatment.
Regardless of Chip's "disabilities" he is a happy, healthy and active dog. He uses his sense of touch and smell to navigate this world with ease! He is a true inspiration to us all!
Chip is house-trained and leash trained. He does great with other dogs, but needs to be with dogs who can tolerate his playfulness and inability to notice if they are giving him signals to stop playing. Chip uses other dogs as his eyes and ears, so he needs another dog in his forever home. He enjoys being outside and does well with cats and older children.
*FENCED YARD REQUIRED (no underground/invisible fences)
