****COURTESY LISTING****Darla is a female 5 year old pit bull mix that weighs 52 pounds. She is spayed, current with vaccines and takes heartworm pills every month. Darla is a very loving, loyal and forgiving animal, so we would like to give that back to her by finding a new loving family and home. We love her so much and hurts when we think about finding her a new home, but we know its the right thing to do. She is currently in Mt. Airy, but will be moving to Greenville NC. We are willing to adopt out of those areas, but it would have to be for a wonderful home. She is great with children of all ages and cats. She has a very laid back personality but can also be playful depending on what you are doing. Darla does have an abusive background where she was chained outside in the dead of December while pregnant. She was not fed and no water was provided, therefore, you could understand why she would be food and toy aggressive towards other dogs. She would need to be in a home where she is the only dog. Please do not be scared of her breed. Research the true personality of pit bulls and see if she would be the right match for you and your family. She is very gentle and has been taken to nursing homes to visit the elderly. We did adopt Darla from Surry Animal Rescue and they are helping us find her a good home, but she is still with us and not in a shelter or a foster home.
