Piper, possibly a boxer/terrier mix, is about 18 months old (as of June 2009). He is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped. Piper was found hiding in someone's carport on a cold March night. He was a 5.8 lb sack of bones, but has grown to be about 2 feet tall at his shoulder and about 50 pounds. Piper has a long skinny tail, long skinny legs and a long skinny body. At his foster home, Piper's personality is happy, sweet and playful. He currently lives in a barn and fenced in yard with two other foster dogs. When he lived in the foster house, Piper was house-trained and came to the side of the bed to let you know if he had to go out during the night. When meeting new people or dogs, Piper is very shy and takes some time to warm up and be his usual happy self. He has not been around children, but he is good with cats. The ideal situation for Piper would be a home with a dog door so he can go outside into a fenced area as often as he needs or wants to. Piper will be a loving, devoted, sweet pet for the person or family willing to give him time to get over his shyness in new situations.
The first step in our adoption process is completing and submitting an online application. Thank you.
