Balto is everything we love about huskies! He is healthy and fun-loving. He is about a year and a half old, almost 60 pounds, light on his feet and very high energy. He's never met a stranger and gets along well with both people and other dogs, but he needs a home that has NO CATS. Balto is a very curious dog and loves to explore and sniff. He's best suited for a family that can keep him entertained with plenty of walks and outdoor activities.  

Just like most huskies, Balto needs a GOOD fence. High-energy paired with an impressive intellect means Huskies are skilled escape artists. They have a natural instinct to roam and explore, and an average fence won't be enough to stop them.

Balto does well on the leash, but needs to work on basic commands like "sit", but he's actually pretty good at coming back when you ask him to. He's not very food motivated, but he's eager to please. He LOVES being brushed. He's done well with going to the bathroom outside so far, including no accidents in the house, and he's been happily playing outside with his foster siblings since he arrived at his foster home. Will update once the weather is bad with how he handles that, including if there is a fear of thunder or going potty in the rain.
